about

Electric Power Pole Records are happy to present the long anticipated followup to 'Location: 2hrs from Sydney' The Martin Fitzgerald File features previously released artists as well as some fresh talent from Australia and Europe.

With a different edge to that of the first release, the compilation takes the listener on a journey from atmospheric progressive, to driving melodies, and on into funky psychedelic grooves. The compilation begins swimmingly with the fishbowl of sound that is 'Tales from the kitchen' by Swedish prog prodigy Nandro. This is nicely followed up by 'Spiral Tree' written by Sol Connection whose sound reflects inspiration from the Australian wilderness. Next up French artist Luna Spice creates the dreamy soundscape that is 'Moon Missionaries'. Float Tank a.k.a Oculus progresses the compilation with the hypnotic track, aptly named 'Retox'. 'Sunset City' is a debut track, influenced by the Australian summer festival circuit and written by Sydney artist Meltdown. More inspiration from the Aussie wilderness is evident in the lush, smiling melodies of 'Curving beams of light' by Sunrunner which fittingly precedes the further layering of melody in the intelligent epic 'Lucid Dreaming' by leading Sydney artist Third drop Reflection. The funk emerges with the return of Hedonix who have created a constantly evolving and playful adaptation of the theme from classic Nintendo game Tetris, the fun continues with 'Surrounded by blips' by Swedish artist Temporary Unknown. This track combines quirky percussive samples and a throbbing groove which characterizes his rather unique style. Renowned Aussie artist Sensient builds layer after layer of groove that steadily brings the listener back down to earth with 'Dynafunk' yet still manages to leave their head spinning.
